new single PINAGSANGA ft. Putad of Taiwan

Our next single pinagsanga begins with a spoken word piece in Amis language by singer-songwriter Putad's own family - four generations of Amis women, a matriarchal indigenous nation of Taiwan.
Putad's Grandmother: We are the lineage of our people
Putad's Mother: Through our mothers
Putad: Maintaining the connection to our land
Putad's Daughter: Mummy
Powerful, entrancing, unapologetic - all words used to describe Putad’s engaging musical presence. Putad unites ancient vocal traditions of Amis with raw energy of grunge and punk as her band 漂流出口 Outlet Drift expresses. Off stage, she is a regular surfer and played a key role in a winning count case fighting for her coastline. She once said "I decided to move back to my community ten years ago, the ocean & my family sustain me, they are who I am."
Taiwanese American director Shih-Ting Hung was inspired to shoot the music video entirely in the water - extremely difficult and unpredictable to make during the pandemic. We had to work with nature, the flow of the river, the sun and the ocean, we had to respect the law of nature - As Putad sung at the end - O icel no pinagsanga - that respect will guide us the way.
